The problem
Back-to-back bookings with no travel time, a 7am booking made at 11pm the night before, and a no-show at the far end of your service area. Mobile work needs a booking tool that understands the gaps between jobs.
The workflow
- Set buffers either side of each booking for travel, set-up and pack-down, so open times already account for the road. See Availability.
- Set minimum notice so tomorrow's route is planned tonight, not rewritten in the morning.
- Set a booking horizon so you are not committed months out.
- Show your service area on your mini-site, so clients outside it do not book.
- Take a deposit per service so a cancelled trip is not a free one. See Payments.
- Keep the address and access notes on the client record and in the booking thread (Solo and Pro). See Client Management.
Booking from the road
Your dashboard works in a phone browser: confirm, reschedule, record a cash payment, or message a client between jobs. Sulit Pocket, a dedicated mobile console, is coming soon.
Limits to know about
- Buffers are a fixed time, not calculated from distance. Sulit Suites does not do route planning or distance-based pricing.
- Availability is set for the business, not per suburb or zone.
- Clients enter their address in the booking details; there is no map or address validation.
Questions from mobile service providers
- Can I charge a travel fee?
- Set it inside the service price or offer a separate service for it. Distance-based pricing is not a current capability.
- Can I block a whole region on certain days?
- Availability is for the whole business. Use blocked dates and buffers, and state your area and days on your site.
- Will I get a reminder before each job?
- Your bookings and calendar are in the dashboard; Solo and Pro can export calendar files to your phone's calendar. Automated reminder schedules are not a published capability.
